I was reading The Not Quite Crunchy Parent and was thinking about her ideas about turning off the tv (good stuff if you have a moment to check it out) and trying to reduce the amount of time the tv is on over all. We aren't crazy tv junkies - but we do have some favorites on DVR.
We're going to give it a shot.
Here are some ideas of what we could do during that week of no tv...
- Read books
- Paint with watercolors
- Pull good stuff from the magazine pile
- Go or walks
- Plant more things
We'll see if we can manage not to use the "here watch this train movie" during those special moments of toddler parenting.
